Frideswide Duo
Megan formed the Frideswide Duo together with the Colombian guitarist Iván García, after they met during their studies at the Musikhochschule Trossingen in Germany. They focus on folk-inspired repertoire for voice and guitar, with a particular interest in music from Britain and Colombia.
They also give workshops introducing children to Latin American folk music and rhythms.
Their programme "Alles fließt" recently won first prize at the Musikhochschule Trossingen's competition for innovative concert formats.
As the Frideswide Ensemble, together with the electronic musician Jason Ullah, they reached the final of the Hugo 2022 International Competition for New Concert Formats in Feldkirch, Austria with their programme "Nebelländer", inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle and his interest in spiritualism.
They have recently begun collaborating with the Colombian-Venezuelan percussionist David Auli Morales to create dramatic concerts which combine elements of early music, Latin American music and the spoken word.
